If you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time, you probably know that I love to read as well as quilt and sew. I read every single day, pretty much without fail, including lots of fiber arts fiction books!
Many of these books are just one in a longer series and sometimes these series can run for more than ten or even twenty books each! Knowing that I have all of those books in which I’ll get to know the quilters (and knitters, weavers, and embroiderers) and their communities is one of the reasons that I keep coming back to these novels.
Tracking My Reading Accomplishments
While my fiber arts fiction review posts are a great way to keep track of which books I’ve read, I also enjoy tracking them old-school style on a written list! No matter how much I use technology, I always seem to come back to paper lists and paper planners. I just love the act of writing out lists by hand, even if it might be faster to keep a typed list in an app on my phone.
To track my fiber arts fiction books I use this printed paper tracker. Each page has room for 20 books and when one page is filled up I just print out a new one and keep going!
For each book I write:
- The title of the book
- The author
- The date I finished (if it’s a re-read I write the date I finished the most recent read)
- And a rating from 1-5 stars
It takes less than a minute to add each book as I’ve finished, and I store my completed pages in a three ring binder. Using a larger page (US letter size) instead of a half-sheet (what I use in my daily planner) makes it easier to write and gives me room for those 20 books on a single page.
Give It a Try!
