Now that I live in San Francisco I’ve had the opportunity to spend a few weekends up in South Lake Tahoe. It’s a fun little town on the southern edge of Lake Tahoe with lots to do both indoors and outdoors. In my visits so far we’ve spent a lot of time just walking around enjoying the sunshine!
One other thing we did was make a purposeful trip to the local quilt store, Quilting Tahoe!
Although this definitely isn’t the largest quilt store I’ve been in, they make use of every square inch of space for fabric, notions and patterns!
My boyfriend came along with me on this visit (I seem to have a knack for convincing non-quilting men to take me to fabric shops!!), and enjoyed standing out of the way while I perused all of the pretty fabrics and spoke with the shop owner about the possibility of classes. Although it’s hard to do classes at the store at Lake Tahoe because of the ever changing tourist population, she did give me lots of useful information and connections related to hosting a sewing and quilting retreat in the area! Something to think about, for sure!
